I’ve spent the last 10 days in Portugal. Visiting family, seeing some friends and enjoying the last summer days of 2009.
I wish I had more time to see all our friends. Next time!
But it’s good to be back home. :)

I’m living in the UK for 40 days and these are 10 things I’ve learned so far:
– The Harry Potter world is not special. Everywhere looks like that;
– They call public schools to private schools;
– They eat way to much sugar;
– They sell sweets (candy) in clothes shops;
– They are not big fans of ironing;
– They talk fast and are easily bored if you don’t talk as fast;
– The health service is really free – as in ZERO money;
– They are immensely shy around foreigners – that can be interpreted as snootiness;
– Girls like to show their bottoms;
– There is mail delivery on Saturdays.

Estou a viver no Reino Unido há 40 dias e estas são 10 coisas que já aprendi:
– O mundo Harry Potter não é especial. Em todo o lado é assim;
– Chamam escolas públicas a escolas privadas;
– Comem demasiados doces;
– Vendem doces nas lojas de roupa;
– Não são muito fãs de passar a roupa a ferro;
– Falam rápido e cansam-se depressa de falar connosco se não falarmos depressa também;
– Os serviços de saúde são realmente grátis – como em ZERO dinheiro;
– São extremamente tÃmidos ao pé de estrangeiros – isso pode ser interpretado como snobismo;
– As miúdas gostam de mostrar o rabo;
– Há entrega de correspondência ao sábado.

Gosto de pintar as unhas de vermelho, de enviar postais aniversário, de viver noutro sÃtio, do Stephen Fry, de perder tempo na Borders e de beber cappuccinos.
I like to paint my nails red, to send birthday cards, to live elsewhere, Stephen Fry, to spend hours looking for books in Borders and of cappuccinos.
Last Tuesday I won on eBay this used bike. £40 (€47/$65) in need of new brake cables, a good scrub and maybe a lube bottle. It crossed my mind to buy instead the cheapest bike they sell on the supermarket but it costs £80 (€94/$130) and it had the worst reviews ever.
And I like projects.
Fomos buscá-la hoje.
We picked her up today.
